I live in Tulsa, OK and the place is covered with trees with white flowers. I heard that is Bradford Pear trees, but some of them are HUGE (25-30 feet). Do not you think pear is so great. What kind of trees are these? I love white flowers but they smell really bad.
They are Bradford pears. I've seen as high as 35 feet, but most are 20 feet. They have an unusual odor. They were a very popular "small" tree during the 1980s and early 1990s, but is not used as much today. They were very popular in commercial landscapes.

Hostas are the # 1 selling perennial as the Association of Perennial The genus Hosta is a native of China and Japan. Liliaceae as gloomy moist organic soil, but many can tolerate and thrive under different conditions. In dealing with a little care (more in the south and west), which can easily survive the vegetables.
Grown mainly for ornamental effect of their foliage, hostas be more impressive year after year as they gain in size and beauty. As groups mature, the margins on variegated varieties often become more pronounced, wrinkles become more prominent, and color sheet may be more intense.
Options abound in size and shape, patterns of leaves, color, texture, content and flowers, as are thousands of varieties of hosta. large hostas can be 4 feet tall and five feet wide, while the smallest miniatures is a few centimeters in diameter, and most hostas between 1 and 3 meters high. Hosta leaves may be round or oval, heart-shaped or spear. The blade may be flat, has a wavy edge or a wrinkled texture. Hosta flowers are produced from early summer to autumn depending on species and cultivar. Flowers can be white, lavender or purple. A few hostas are fragrant.
* Liliaceae often grow larger in the north than in the South, given the same conditions.
* Blue-leaf hostas can be bluer in the north.
* Some varieties of hostas varied and yellow or gold leaf, need a little sunshine to fully develop their color.
* Yellow hostas leaves often appear more yellow in the South.
* Yellow hosta can illuminate a place, not too dark.
* Green and blue hostas can lose some of its intensity of color with too much sun.
* Sunlight is needed to stimulate flowering.
* In the morning the sun has a beginning Sun pm (5-6 hours in total) benefits fragrant hostas.
* Morning sun is preferable to afternoon sun.
morning sun and noon shadow is the ideal condition for most varieties. A general guideline is often recommended a minimum of 25% shade in the northern regions and 50% in the southern regions, depending on the variety. And do not forget hostas growing in more sun require more water, one inch or more of water per week if not indicated by rains.
Did you know blue hostas are not really blue? The leaves are green with a waxy coating on their surface. This wax is produced when the leaves are new emerging. For a while the wax may melt in the heat, especially in the South. The layer can also be washed in heavy rains or frequent overhead irrigation. They will be blue in the spring, and may lose the blue color, possibly turning to green for fall. The color tends to be bluer and last longer in warmer or cold areas.
Variegated leaves can be a combination of shades lighter and darker color. Medium variegated leaves have a light color in the center sheet, which can be white, gold, green, yellow, or light. Marginally variegated leaves are a light color on the edge of the blade. Some plants naturally experience Seasonal changes color. A plant variety can change all the green leaves during the season, or green to yellow or yellow to white.
Blue Fragrant Bouquet aromatic, balmy sleep, fried green tomatoes, guacamole, royal standard, so sweet, Glass, Striptease hostas are fragrant.
Shearing is a technique leaves used to enhance eye / shoot and root production. In northern climates, hostas should be sheared before August to allow time for new growth mature before the first frost.
If potted hostas, we recommend using a mixture of nursery in place of types of peat-vermiculite. For example: 60% composted bark, 20% peat and 20% perlite or coarse sand. The optimum pH is 6.0 to 6.5 and soluble salts should be low. In preparing a new garden or an old work, this mix example can be used to amend soil.
Hostas are heavy feeders and require a complete fertilizer program to reach leaves most spectacular. 14-14-14 We use slow release fertilizer as a top dressing and fertilizer to water-soluble 30-30-30 NPK (nitrogen for foliage, phosphorus for roots, the structure and potassium for flowering). In early spring, after the first growth starts, apply a well-balanced, slow release fertilizer. Avoid excessive fertilizer, especially in summer. Do not fertilize at least two months before the first frost early. The addition of compost on the bed in the fall, can reduce fertilizer needs of next year.
Slugs and snails are the primary pests hosta. occasional pests include aphids, thrips, mites and field mice. Watering hostas in the morning (as opposed to night) reduces the opportunities for pests and diseases. Remove leaves and clean around hosta plants after they have died back to help control the disease, mice and slugs. The leaves are thick and stiff are said to have "heavy substance" leaves given that these be somewhat resistant to slug feeding. While there are a number of commercial and home remedies for slugs and snails, we found that 15% ammonia and 85% water mixture discourages creatures, as well as deer. Increase the percentage of ammonia, if deer are the culprits.
Hostas are easily increased by dividing the group in early spring. Hostas can be grown from seed, but when the father is often unknown, the resulting seed is unreliable. Vegetative propagation is always advised by the true children of the parents.
Patented plants have a patent number on the label or indication that a patent has been requested. Patented plants may not be reproduced in any way, shape or form without the permission of the owner or until the duration patent has expired.
Companion plants enhance the appearance hostas. The first flower bulbs and perennial plants will improve the new hosta leaves. Spring foliage the bulb can be hidden after blooming by the larger hosta leaves. Featured partners include Astilbe, Heuchera, snowdrops, crocus, tulips, daffodils, Trillium, anemones, impatiens, ferns, Hellebores, pulmonary and wild ginger. In the summer months, annual bright as impatiens, begonia, and coleus make attractive companion plants.

You want to donate flowers after the wedding of our daughter. Is there an organization that collected in the TC
We live in Danbury, CT area. We know there are nursing homes and hospitals that would take, but you really do not have anyway to get the facilities after the reception waiting that there was an organization that would be willing to come looking. The ceremony will take place at a meeting of Colonial House and at the same time we will have flowers in place we are told they will have to be removed immediately after the ceremony. We contacted a local nursing home and told me to accept the flowers, but the need to leave and not pick up. The wedding reception will end at 10:00 pm and had no customers who had vehicles large enough. Many are from out of town and do not know the area very well.
Call some of the places near you and see if you can arrange for someone to come pick them up. A senior housing or long-term care employees may be able to do this. Maybe you could get one of his guests to provide such services for you. A wedding guests often want to help and this is something someone could do for you - look for that person who always wants to do something and has the vehicle to do so.
